Fundraising Coordinator

Aviva is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to supporting New Zealand families to become free from the harms of family and sexual violence. When formed 1973 as New Zealand’s first refuge, we provided a range of specialist family violence services to women and children for 40 years. Today, our work is founded on the belief that the safest place for all New Zealanders should be our homes and that everyone has the potential to overcome violence and its enduring effects if offered the right support, at the right time, in the right way. To this end, we now offer a range of integrated specialist family and sexual violence services for the whole family – children, young people, and adults - and are seeking passionate and skilled people to join our team.

With our partners, Aviva co-founded and operates from The Loft, in Eastgate Shopping Centre. The Loft is a collaborative partnership of community, social and health services working to improve the wellbeing of all people in our community, including children and their Whanau, from its base in eastern Christchurch. The Loft is evolving and improving how people access and experience social and community-based support by co-creating a co-located response model that provides an immediate, integrated response to complex needs. The creation of a whole of person, whole of family/whanau approach to wellbeing, delivered from one shared space, has never been achieved before in Australasia, and offers a unique service proposition for Canterbury communities.

The Loft offers a unique contemporary working environment, designed to support clients and staff. There is access to Eastgate’s staff car parking, banking, retail and service outlets and Linwood Community Library and Service Centre.

We’re looking for a skilled, passionate and creative Fundraising Co-ordinator to join our communications and fundraising team. You will also lead, co-ordinate and manage Aviva’s Annual Street Appeal in May every year.  Key relationships will include all Aviva staff and volunteers and a range of external partners, groups and businesses.

Based at The Loft, this permanent role is for a minimum of 32 hours per week. However, there is the opportunity for the role to be 35-40 hours per week for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone with high energy and drive, who will champion the value proposition of Aviva’s vision and purpose to secure increased fundraising-related support.
